Off-Leash Pack Walks

We pick up each dog from their respective homes and take them to the location of their one-hour walk. I begin the walk with all the dogs on leash as we make our way to an off-leash area where the dogs can run freely and interact in a pack setting with each other. The dogs have access to fresh water and are rewarded with treats for good behavior. At the conclusion of the off-leash time, the dogs are leashed up and we return to the van to be wiped off and taken home.

One on One Leash Walks

We will come to your home to pick up your dog and take them for an individual leash walk in your neighborhood.

Home Visits

We will come to your home to visit with your dog and take them out for a bathroom break and some fresh air. We can also give them a meal/snack or administer medication if necessary.

House Sitting

We will stay overnight at your home and care for your pet.

Safety

I obtained my professional dog walking certification at Langara College under Dr. Rebecca Ledger. I am fully licensed, insured, and bonded as well as pet first aid certified. I take safety very seriously and conduct myself in with the utmost in dependability and professionalism. The safety of the dogs is paramount, and I take all possible precautions with the best interests of the dogs in mind during my entire time with them. The dogs are tethered to restrict movement for their safety during transportation and so that they cannot unexpectedly jump out during unloading at the walk location.

Relationships

For new customers I will arrange for a “Meet and Greet” with the customer and the dog where I evaluate the dog for temperament, recall, and the ability to function on leash as well as off leash. The relationship between a dog walker and the dog is constantly evolving over time as you build a relationship with the pet where a trust is developed and a strong recall is developed.

About

I have been walking dogs in Steveston and the Richmond area since 2014. I offer a personal approach to each customer for their dog walking needs, providing the best possible experience for the dog and peace of mind for the owner. I love the excitement that the dogs show as they anticipate their walk and the sheer joy that they exude as they walk along the path with me or when they are off leash playing on the beach. It is a wonderful feeling to have a positive role in the lives of the dogs that I walk, and I look forward to each new adventure.

After twenty-six years of working customer service in the airline industry I was longing for a more meaningful and rewarding career. I had come to appreciate the simple joys of interacting with my own dogs for the past twelve years. I was convinced that I could enjoy this passion with other dogs as well, so enrolled in and completed the Professional Dog Walker Program at Langara College and the Walks ‘N’ Wags Pet First Aid course.

Lucie Newman has been walking my dog Kody for about 2 years now, she is trained in dog CPR and dog obedience. Kody is always excited to see Lucie and loves his weekly walk, he is always pooped out and content after.

I would highly recommend Lucie to anyone for walking your dog. Your dog will be in capable hands.

Lucie has helped us immensely with Chico, or beloved St. Bernard. She is kind, reliable and dependable and Chico adores her. There is no doubt in our minds that Chico is in the safest possible hands and that means the world to us. We would be lost without her.

Lucie came highly recommended to me by various dog owners on the local Steveston Park scene. She has quickly become one of Farley’s best buds and I have ultimate peace of mind knowing he is in such great hands. There are only a handful of people I trust with my fur baby and Lucie tops the list.

Lucie started walking our dog much loved Redbone Coonhound when she was just 8 months old. Through Lucie’s patience and diligence Penny has matured into a refined loveable lady. Each walk Lucie takes Penny on is different from the last keeping Penny engaged and interested. Penny comes home from each adventure happy, exhausted and better trained. Lucie is disciplined with Penny but its easy to see the twinkle in her eye because she loves what she does… and Penny adores Lucie. We are so happy and grateful to have found Ocean Breeze Pet Services.
